Told you i'd be back with a health update.. so here ya go.
I have started seeing a new Endo doctor at the recommendation of Dr. Pham. She told me that in Canada doctors are only taught how to treat surface endometriosis, they are not taught how to find and cut out nerve endo or deep endo pockets. In my last surgery with her she did confirm seeing endo on my sciatic nerve but was not comfortable treating it. So she referred me to Dr. Lemos at Mount Sinai hospital in Toronto.
Dr. Lemos is a urogynecologist, he specializes in nerves and has an amazing understanding of endometriosis.
So at my first appointment his medical student did a VERY detailed medical history with me. I'm taking a 38 page questionnaire before I even met her, and then almost 45 minutes of talking before Dr. Lemos even came into the exam room. But hey I'm all for talking with medical students, the more students we can educate about endo the better.
So once he came in he did all these nerve tests no other doctors had done, and he confirmed that my S1 nerve (sciatic nerve) was not responding to the tests, which would explain why I cannot walk properly when my pain is flaring.
He also did tests on my arm and shoulder because | have a lot of pain in my right shoulder and ribs during flares.
So coming out of the appointment Dr. Lemos said I will need surgery on my S1 nerve and he is 95% sure | have thoratic endo up my right side...
so pray for me!!!
