Hello Friends!
So with 2018 coming to an end I thought i'd talk about one of my biggest new year's resolutions...
SELFCARE!!!
I don't know about any of you but I am terrible, and I mean terrible at selfcare. I think it's because I already feel guilty about not being able to really do as much as i'd like to (which you totally shouldn't.. I'm working on it). So in 2019 I really want to learn to listen to my body more and really take the time to show myself some serious love.
So selfcare can be a really simple thing to do as long as we take the time to actually do it. Here are a few simple ways I plan to use to achieve this goal:
1. HOT BATHS
God, I love taking nice long hot baths. They help so much with endo pain and it's just a great way to put everything down and really just relax. Personally i'm in love with Lush products, can't get enough of them. A great smelling bathbomb or bubblebar just really relaxes me. I have an awesome terry cloth pillow for the tub and I usually like to burn a vanilla candle. During a bath I will either put on a podcast and just listen with my eyes closed or i'll bring in whatever book i'm currently reading (right now that is either Hilariously Infertile or The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck).
2. GETTING A BLOWOUT
There is a hair college down the street from me and prices are pretty cheap, so when i'm having a bad week to the point where I cannot even imagine washing and drying my hair I like to go get a wash and blow-dry. Having my hair washed a blow-dried by a hair stylist usually grantees me a week of fresh looking hair, which is a miracle during a flare up.
3. USING A SLOW COOKER
I know this one might not seem like selfcare but it totally is. A lot of the time when i'm not feeling well I hate even the thought of cooking dinner, and most of the time if i'm flaring up I physically can't stand there at the stove cooking. This leads to wasting money on take out, unhealthy eating and in all honesty can make the flare up even worse. So planning ahead and having a meal I can quickly throw in the slow cooker in the morning and just having it ready to just serve out at dinner time is a real life saver on my body sometimes. Comment down below if you wanna see some of my favorite endo friendly slow cooker recipes.
So there are just 3 of the ways I plan to use to show myself some love in the new year. Comment below some of your self care tips or just your new years resolutions.

And I wish you all a pain free New Year's Eve
